No garba event without security cameras: Ahmedabad police
The DCP said that loudspeakers should be used till 12 midnight
The city police have made it mandatory for the garba organizers to install CCTV cameras at the venues. The cameras will be linked to the city police control room.
Deputy commissioner of police, control room, Komal Vyas said that so far, the police commissionerate has received 47 applications seeking the permission to organize garba events.
The DCP said that loudspeakers should be used till 12 midnight, after which the police will take action on getting any complaint.
Vyas said that police have taken all steps to prevent any untoward incident.
She said that the organizers will have to coordinate with police and ensure that all visitors are checked properly. The venue should have a separate entry for women.
The organizers will have to arrange for the parking space for two-wheelers and four-wheelers within 100 metres from the venue.
Police will form peace committees comprising members from the majority and the minority communities to ensure a peaceful Navratri.
Police teams, including the She squads, will patrol their respective areas to check incidents of molestation, pick- pocketing and chain-snatching.
