New pair of lion brings ray of hope is authorities of Vadodara Sayajibaug zoo

New pair of lion arrives from Sakkarbaug Zoo in Junagadh brings a new ray of hope to Sayajibaug zoo in Vadodara. With this young pair the authorities are now hopeful for breeding and get new cubs in the zoo. Presently the pair is under quarantine and will be displayed to public after 15 days.

On Sunday the young healthy pair arrived in Vadodara much to the delight of zoo authorities as they welcome them with great expectations. Earlier the zoo lost a lioness to a injury and it broke the pair. With the arrival of young pair the present strength of lions stands at three two males and one female.

"It's a happy moment for us as the young sub adults pair aged around one year eight months arrived here giving us a ray of hope. The earlier pair broke due to the death of the lioness and after so much of efforts we failed to breed. Now with this young healthy pair we are hopeful for good pairing and breed cubs in our own zoo. We now have good open enclosures for lions to move freely and hopeful for good results in future," said Pratyush Patankar curator Sayajibaug Zoo Vadodara.
