The world is gearing up to observe the 7th International Day of Yoga 2021 on
21 Jun 2021 amidst global Covid-19 pandemic that has forced everyone to stay indoors. Gujarat NCC Directorate will participate in this celebration by doing the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) at home with their families on that day.
The concept of IDY 2021 is in synergy with the Ministry of AYUSH and the message "Be with Yoga, Be at Home !", will be sent out to families, peers and friends by NCC cadets to encourage them to actively participate from home in the IDY 2021. Taking cognizance of the current Covid-19 situation, use of digital, virtual and electronic platform will be made for the conduct of IDY 2021.
The International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2021 presents an occasion, to underline the health benefits of Yoga and motivate the public to take up the pursuit of Yoga to bring people together all over, while remain inside their home. The Gujarat NCC Directorate has worked out its Action Plan for NCC cadet level participation, wherein a buzz about the IDY 2021 would be created by participation of cadets in a Jingle Composition Competition, at the national level, in which the winning entry will win a cash prize of Rs 25,000. There will also be an online Pledge taking by the cadets to make yoga an integral part of their life. The cadets will also take part in an online IDY Quiz Competition and will be awarded an e-certificate for participation.
As a part of the Pre Event Training, the cadets will use digital resources for familiarizing and training themselves with the help of CYP training videos which are available on the Ministry of AYUSH Yoga Portal. On the appointed day of 21 Jun 21, the cadets will participate in the IDY 2021 Common Yoga Protocol activity at 7 am. They will do this from the safety of their homes, considering the risks of Covid-19 pandemic. Cadets will also have the option of using the national TV (which will be telecasting CYP at 7 am onwards) or any other appropriate CYP video for guidance
