Mumbai - Ahmedabad double decker train luckily survive from major accident near Sanjan station, Valsad
There were no serious damages to the coach except for slight scratch, nor any injuries or casualty.
On 22nd January, 2022 while Train No 12932 Ahmedabad – Mumbai Double Decker was passing between Sanjan and Umargaon section at 11.00 hrs, there was an incidence of dumper on DFCC formation brushing against the 3 rear coaches of the train. There were no serious damages to the coach except for slight scratch, nor any injuries or casualty.
There was fencing, as well as drain near the tracks. The Loco Inspector had observed the truck working within the fencing boundaries of DFCCIL and nothing unusual. However, the Guard on his alertness observed the dumper brush the last 3 coaches and applied brakes, as well as informed the Loco Pilot to stop. It was a freak incident . The train proceeded at 11.30 hrs. The dumper has also been removed from track. The driver of the dumper has been caught by the RPF.
GM-WR, Shri Alok Kansal has already proceeded to the site at 11.30 hrs and is doing a footplate inspection on the way to check regarding the various safety aspects.
