Mini-Cyclone hits Bharuch for second time in 15 Days, causing widespread damage

A mini-cyclone, with winds gusting up to 40 kilometers per hour, swept through Bharuch city and district late Wednesday night, marking the second such event in 15 days.

The strong winds, accompanied by heavy rainfall, led to widespread damage, including uprooted trees and blown-off roofs, while also causing extensive power outages.

The sudden change in weather, consistent with the Meteorological Department's forecast, brought down temperatures but raised concerns about significant damage to agricultural crops.

Damage Assessment and Rainfall Data :

The late-night squall created mini-cyclone-like conditions across Bharuch. Numerous incidents of trees being uprooted and house roofs being blown away were reported throughout the district. Power supply was also disrupted in many areas as a direct consequence of the high-speed winds.
