A massive fire broke out late last night at Niyojan Chemical Company, located in SEZ-2 of Dahej, Bharuch.
The fire, which started during a chemical process in the MPP-3 plant, quickly escalated, engulfing the plant and the company’s warehouse.
Swift Response and Firefighting Efforts
As soon as the fire was reported, firefighters rushed to the scene and began efforts to control the blaze.
The fire had spread rapidly, with flames visible from a great distance, causing panic in the surrounding area. A total of 16 fire tenders were deployed, and after an intense battle lasting approximately five to five and a half hours, the fire was successfully brought under control.
Investigation Underway
Authorities, including the Industrial Safety and Health Department and the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB), have initiated an investigation into the cause of the fire. Preliminary findings suggest that it was triggered during a chemical process at the facility.
No Casualties, But Heavy Losses
Fortunately, no casualties have been reported in the incident. However, significant damage has been inflicted on the plant and warehouse, leading to major financial losses for the company.
