Man arrested for raping 12-year-old girl in Surat

A 12-year-old schoolgirl was allegedly raped multiple times by a 22-year-old man in Kapodra area of the city over the past three months.
The accused was arrested on Monday when he was attempting to rape the minor on the terrace of the building where they lived.
The accused was identified as Sandip Shukla who works as a casual labourer. The girl's parents woke up in the early hours of Monday and saw she was missing.
They also found that the front door was locked from the outside. The father, who runs a food cart, then called his brother who opened the locked door.
The family members searched the building and found the girl on the terrace of the adjoining building with Shukla.
The girl told her parents that Shukla had threatened to kill her and raped her multiple times in the past three months. The girl's family members handed over Shukla to the police.
