Major General Mohit Wadhwa General Officer Commanding, Golden Katar Division, flagged off the "INDIA@75 BRO MOTORCYCLE EXPEDITION 2021" from Ahmedabad on 18 December 2021. The rally is being held in collaboration with Hero Motocorp and Bharat Petroleum, to mark the 75th year of independent India as part of celebration of "Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav".

A total of 10 riders from the Border Roads are participating in the rally. They will traverse through Bhuj, Barmer, Bikaner, Amritsar, Ferozpur and finally culminate at Delhi on 25 December 2021, and will cover a distance of approx 2700 Kms over a period of eight days.

Flagging off the rally, the General Officer Commanding, Golden Katar Division said, this is a historic year and it is important for us to remember the supreme sacrifice made by our veterans of Border Roads while working in hostile, remote terrain of Border Areas where connectivity is extremely crucial. He added that such events are important to connect with the people and remind them of the valour and sacrifice of the Border Roads Organisation. He wished good luck to all the participants and lauded their spirit of adventure. The General Officer Commanding also thanked Hero Motocorp and Bharat Petroleum for their support to the rally.

The expedition will interact with war veterans/widows and with other veterans of the Armed Forces and Border Roads Organisation. The riders will visit schools and colleges and connect with the youth of the country, to highlight the valour and sacrifice of Border Roads Organisation. The expedition aims to to rekindle the spirit of patriotism in the people and showcase the indomitable spirit of the Border Roads Organisation. It will also motivate the youth to join the elite Border Roads Organisation by making them understand career prospects in BRO. The expedition will conduct medical camps, road safety campaigns and visit old age homes/orphanages.

The BRO expedition team was also felicitated by the BPCL Gandhinagar, by organising a grand welcome for them.
