Mahisagar district BJP executive member and wife killed by known person over money matters

Police has cracked the case of murder of Mahisagar district BJP executive member and his wife. It has been revealed that the accused turns out to be known person to the deceased and the killing was a fall out in money matters. Mahisagar police have arrested accused Bhikhabhai Patel and further investigating in the matter. They also reconstructed the crime scene with the accused.

Tribhovandas Panchal (age 77) and his wife Jashoda Panchal (age 70) living in Golana Palla village of Lunawada in Mahisagar district were found murdered near their house by the police. It is said that some unidentified person called him and attacked him from behind and inflicted fatal injuries resulting in his death.

Meanwhile, his wife Jashodaben came out of the house following the movement and she too was fatally hit on the head. People who went to fetch milk in the morning were shocked to see the bodies in the compound.

The incident was reported to the Lunawada police and top officials including Range IG, rushed to the spot and conducted an investigation into the double murder. They took the help of Dog Squad and FSL and during search found the cash as well as jewelery safe.

During the police investigation, it has been revealed that the murder was committed by a known person to the deceased Tribhovandas. Following which, the police have arrested accused Bhikhabhai Patel. It has been found that he killed him in ordinary money matter. Police took the accused to the spot and seized his mobile and weapon.

"The victim lend his land to the accused for ploughing and asked him to pay his share annually. Few days ago the victim asked the accused to return his 20000 rupees and they argued over the matter. The accused felt insulted over his words and in a fit of rage killed both with a sharp edged weapon. We have recovered the murder weapon, mobile and reconstructed the crime scene with the accused, " Said R. B. Barot SP Mahisagar.

Further investigation is on in the matter.
