Vadodara Central Jail's Radio Prison Live made it possible for inmates to broadcast the program live under a unique arrangement that could be called the prison's own radio. This leading initiative is to entertain the inmates and give legal information and useful training from time to time.

As a key link, the Vadodara District Legal Services Authority, in collaboration with radio broadcast, introduced for the first time the understanding and legal training of the inmates. Under this program in association with Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, Ranjitsinh Sindha, Law Officer of Central Jail and Sagar Rajkumar Jadav, Legislator on Mandal's list about serious and noteworthy matters like the law relating to narcotics, for the welfare of prisoners under the Prisons Act, 1894. Literature was also distributed giving them an understanding of the law.

The program was organized under the guidance of Jail Superintendent Baldev Singh Vaghela and Vadodara District Legal Services Authority Chairman Mr. Gadhvi, said Welfare Officer Mahesh Rathore.

It is to be noted that the Gujarat State Jail Authority has adopting broadcasting technology as a new initiative for the welfare of the inmates. The radio broadcasting facility was started in the prison premises of Vadodara, which was the fourth radio station of the state prisons in Gujarat. Prisoners have been made partners in its management.

Its purpose is to give the inmates a chance to listen to hymns, songs, ballads, discourses, and to accelerate reform efforts. This arrangement gives the inmates a wonderful opportunity to become radio jockeys, manage broadcasts and present their art and ideas.
