Eight out of ten health centres in Vadodara district are now equipped with oxygen plant inside the premises to ensure uninterrupted supply to the patients. More over jumbo cylinders are also installed there as a back plan in case of emergency.

This information was given by the Chief District Health Officer (CDHO) Dr. Surendra Jain during the launching of Oxygen plant at the Padra PHC (Primary Health Centre) on Thursday. Huntsman and Padra Industrial Association (PHA) together set up the oxygen generation plant and dedicated to the people.

The facility has a capacity to generate oxygen of 10Nm3 per hour at 90 to 93 percent purity. It is well equipped to cater 50 beds in the medical centre. "This facility will strengthen the treatment of patients when we are eyeing a third wave. The facility can further increased in terms of patients inflow and we already have our back up plan ready in here and all the PHC, " Said Jain.

Rahul Tikoo, MD, Huntsman, India sub-continent said, this initiative is part of company's ongoing efforts to improve health infrastructure of Padra district. The oxygen plant at the PHC will meet the requirements of this centre and will also be ready to contribute in capacity enhancement of this plant.
