While educational institutes and many offices celebrated the festival of colours on Tuesday itself, the residential societies prepared for the widespread celebrations on Wednesday.

Many temples in the city and state also celebrated Holi with flower petals with devotees on Tuesday.

It will, however, be a field day for the city police and emergency services as the officials will keep an eye on any accident, untoward incident or emergencies. Special teams will also patrol to prevent any eve-teasing or harassment.

According to EMRI 108 services, the emergencies could hike up to 32% compared to normal days. Some of the emergencies that see spike include vehicular trauma, respiratory issues, fall and physical assaults.
