At a time when the incessant torrential rains have wreaked havoc across Gujarat, the State Highway connecting Ankleshwar and Surat was flooded giving a tough time to the commuters, especially those commuting daily between the two cities for work.

Following incessant heavy rains, normal life has been thrown out of gear in the Bharuch district including Ankleshwar town.

According to the forecast by the Meteorological department, incessant torrential rains continue to pound the entire South Gujarat region for the last three days. Due to heavy rains, all the reservoirs are full and the rivers are flowing from bank to bank.

Many low-lying areas in Bharuch have been flooded due to heavy to heavy rains amid the cloudburst forecast by the Meteorological department.

In the last 24 hours, Ankleshwar city has received 2.7 inch rainfall, flooding the state highway connecting Ankleshwar and Surat. The State Highway has been closed for vehicular traffic on Tuesday.

Moreover, the incessant rains continuing in the Bharuch district have damaged the roads. The scenes of traffic jams on the potholed roads have become an everyday affair.
