Heavy rains likely to return to Gujarat from Wednesday

The city and several other parts of Gujarat are likely to get spell of heavy rains from Wednesday, indicated a forecast by India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday.

The city on Sunday recorded maximum temperature of 35C, which was 1.7C higher than normal.

According to the forecast, Monday may witness heavy rains in Navsari, Valsad, Amreli and Bhavnagar. After heavy rains in Bharuch, Surat, Amreli and Bhavnagar on Tuesday, Wednesday would see widespread heavy rains in Narmada, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Porbandar, Junagadh and Gir Somnath districts. On Sunday, Dahod recorded 36mm rainfall till 6pm, followed by 31mm each in Dholera and Garbada.
