According to the IMD, these districts may experience extremely heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, an Orange Alert has been issued for all other districts where heavy rainfall is expected.
Districts Under Red Alert
As per the IMD, a Red Alert was issued for Bhavnagar, Surat, Tapi, Dang, and Navsari on Saturday, July 5. An Orange Alert remains in effect for the rest of the state.
Forecast for July 6 and 7
For July 6 and 7, the IMD has issued:
- Orange Alert for: Navsari and Valsad
- Yellow Alert for: Amreli, Bhavnagar, Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Chhota Udepur, and Dahod
Forecast for July 8 to 10
- July 8: Yellow Alert for Amreli, Bhavnagar, Navsari, Dang, Tapi, Narmada, Valsad, Chhota Udepur, Dahod
- July 9: Yellow Alert for Navsari and Valsad
- July 10: Yellow Alert for Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Mahisagar, and Dahod due to expected heavy rain with thunderstorms
In the past 24 hours, rainfall was recorded in 201 talukas across the state. The heaviest rainfall was observed in:
- Palsana (Surat): 3.7 inches
- Kankrej (Banaskantha): 3.5 inches
- Lakhtar (Surendranagar): 3.4 inches
- Valsad: 3.23 inches
- Vapi: 3.15 inches
- Vav Taluka: 3.0 inches
- Kalyanpur: 3.0 inches
