Four of a family of five died by mass suicide in Vadali village in Gujarat’s Sabarkantha district on Saturday night after being allegedly harassed by moneylenders.
Vinu Sagar Zundala (42) and wife Kokila (40) died on Saturday night after consuming a poisonous substance.
While their two teenage sons Nirav and Narendra later succumbed, the eldest sibling Krishna is battling for her life at a private hospital in Gandhinagar, as per reports.
According to preliminary information, the family died by suicide due to harassment by moneylenders.
This incident has sparked widespread anger in the community. A large number of community members rushed to the Vadali police station on Sunday to raise their concerns.
At the same time, the bodies of the couple were brought to the police station after the post-mortem.
As people surrounded the police station and strongly demanded strict action over the incident, there was a stir within the administration.
However, the situation was under control after the police assured proper investigation and strict action against the culprits.
