Second semester examinations at colleges affiliated with Gujarat University, which were to begin on May 26, will likely be postponed to June 7, after a representation from the Gujarat State Principals' Association.
Earlier this week, the association wrote to the GU vice-chancellor, asking him to delay the exams by 10 days.
The association said around 1 lakh students of arts, commerce, science and BEd, law, BBA and BCA have registered for the Semester 2 exams, and colleges need more time to make preparations.
The association said college administrations have to make arrangements for seating and supervision, and will need more time. The association also cited the extreme summer heat.
