Gujarat: Rs 52-crore water projects get nod

The state government on Saturday gave in-principle approval for water supply works worth Rs 52.75 crore in Junagadh municipal corporation and five other municipalities.

The amount has been sanctioned under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana.

Based on applications made by JMC and the municipalities of Khambhaliya, Dhoraji, Zhalod, Chalala and Mansa, the urban development department sent proposals to the CM who sanctioned the projects on Saturday, a CMO statement said. The water supply projects have been sanctioned keeping in mind the requirements for the next three decades, the statement added.

Accordingly, approval of Rs 20.85 crore has been sanctioned for Junagadh city, Rs 7.22 crore for Khambhaliya municipality, Rs 2.8 crore for Dhoraji municipality, Rs 14.16 crore for Jhalod municipality, Rs 3.4 crore for Chalala municipality and Rs 4.32 crore for Mansa municipality.
