On Sunday, Gujarat reported a decrease in both new infections and fatalities related to Covid-19, with 9,395 cases and 30 deaths, down from 11,794 and 33 deaths on Saturday.

In addition, the number of active cases and critical patients decreased from 98,021 to 91,320 and 285 to 278, respectively, according to the state health bulletin.

The four districts of Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, and Rajkot, on the other hand, showed a decrease in new cases but continued to report the bulk of deaths and new infections.

Fresh cases accounted for 75% of all new cases in these four districts, including municipal areas, while deaths accounted for 73 percent of all deaths.

Ahmedabad reported 3,653 new cases and 9 deaths; while there was a decrease in cases, the number of deaths rose from 8 to 9.

Similarly, Vadodara reported 2011 new infections with three deaths, Surat 642 cases with six deaths, and Rajkot 773 cases with four deaths.

On Sunday, three new districts reported deaths: Bharuch, Gandhinagar, Mehsana, and Morbi, each with one death.

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) designated eight additional micro containment zones in locations such as Prahladnagar, South Bopal, Sarkhej, Motera, and Chandkheda in response to new illnesses recorded in the city. At the same time, containment limits in 15 regions were lifted. As a result, the city now has a total of 98 micro containment sites as of Sunday.
