The COVID-19 cases in India are on rise again, with 257 active cases. In Gujarat, there are currently seven active cases. In the past week, six new cases have been reported.
Among the Indian states with the highest number of active COVID-19 cases, Kerala tops the list with 95 cases, followed by Tamil Nadu with 66 cases, Maharashtra with 56, Karnataka with 13, Puducherry with 10, and Gujarat is in 6th place with 7.
In last seven days, one patient was cured. Notably, Gujarat has registered over 12 lakh Covid cases since 2020, with 11,101 deaths in the state.
The deadly and stubborn virus seems to have returned after three years as it appears to be resurging in some parts of Asia. Health authorities in Hong Kong and Singapore have recorded a spike in coronavirus cases in both regions, as per report.
The estimated number of COVID-19 cases rose to 14,200 in the week of Apr 27 to May 3, up from 11,100 cases in the previous week, according to Singapore-based news channel.
According to official data, serious cases, including deaths due to Covid, also rose to 31 in the week that ended on May 3, the highest level in about a year.
