A cheque of Rs 224.73 crore was handed over to chief minister Bhupendra Patel as the final dividend for 2023-24 by Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Limited (GMDC), a state-run public enterprise.

An official statement said that the cheque was handed over to the CM by company chairman Hasmukh Adhia and managing director Roopwant Singh on Oct 9.

This amount was received by GMDC as the major shareholder for 2023-24, holding about 74% of the company's equity.
