Dr Rakesh Joshi, medical superintendent of Civil Hospital, said that this was the 13th camp with the team.

"The initiative started in 2008 with Dr Aseem Shukla, a paediatric urologist from Children Hospital of Philadelphia coming to the campus and collaborating with us. Over the years, he has brought in many experts from the US to carry out the procedure which is skill and resource intensive," he said.

Along with the surgeries, follow-up of 45 patients from 10 states of India and one from Bangladesh also took place. Dr Shukla said that the condition is marked by the bladder outside the body of a child and leaking of urine due to a congenital defect.
