Bringing festive cheer ahead of Diwali, the Gujarat government has announced an ad-hoc bonus of up to ₹7,000 for Class-4 employees across various departments and institutions.
The bonus will not be limited to regular state government departments. Eligible beneficiaries also include employees working in the offices of the Council of Ministers, the Assembly Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and other legislative offices.
Additionally, Class-4 staff in Panchayats, universities, affiliated colleges, and grant-in-aid schools and colleges will receive the bonus. The scheme will also extend to employees in state boards and corporations where bonuses are not typically granted.
According to official estimates, around 16,921 Class-4 employees will directly benefit from this festive initiative.
The state finance department has been instructed to issue the necessary orders and ensure timely disbursement ahead of the festive season.
Officials stated that the move is aimed at providing financial relief and boosting morale among lower-tier government staff during Diwali.
