Gujarat Gas on Wednesday announced that it will increase the price of CNG by Rs 1 from Thursday. The new price will be Rs 76.26 per kg.
Over 4 lakh CNG vehicle users will be affected due to the price hike in south Gujarat.
Around 60 CNG pumps are operational in the city.
There are 250 CNG pumps in the south Gujarat region.
Auto rickshaws and school vans are the major segments of CNG consumers. Following the hike in CNG prices, another rise in charges by school vans is feared.
Congress leader Darshan Naik announced that he would stage a protest against the price rise.
