Gujarat High Court Chief Justice Sunita Agarwal administered the oath of office to the seven newly appointed judges at a ceremony in the court premises on Monday.
Law Minister Rishikesh Patel and Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi were present at the ceremony.
Notably, the President of India, exercising powers granted by the Constitution of India, approved the appointment of these seven judges based on the recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium
The judicial officers appointed as high court judges include:
1. Liyakathussain Shamsuddin Pirzada
2. Ramchandra Thakurdas Vachhani
3. Jayesh Lakhanshibhai Odedra
4. Pranav Maheshbhai Raval
5. Mool Chand Tyagi
6. Dipak Mansukhlal Vyas
7. Utkarsh Thakorbhai Desai
The Gujarat High Court currently has a total strength of 32 judges, against the sanctioned strength of 52. With the latest appointments, the number of judges will now increase to 39.
