Gujarat breaches 1,000 active cases after 100 days

After 104 days, Gujarat crossed the 1,000 active Covid cases mark at 1,102 on Thursday.

After more than two months, number of patients on ventilator has increased to three. Nearly half active cases in Gujarat are from Ahmedabad.
Covid cases in the city crossed the 100 mark on Thursday with 114 new cases, recording a 113-day high daily tally.
For Gujarat, too, it was 110-day high at 228. With the discharge of 62 patients, the active cases in Ahmedabad reached 604.
The active cases crossed 1,000 in Gujarat at 1,102 after 104 days.
There were 26 new cases in Vadodara city, 20 in Surat city, 12 in Rajkot city, seven in Jamnagar city, six in Surat city, five in Navsari, and four each in Gandhinagar city, and Bharuch, Gandhinagar, and Vadodara districts among others. Ahmedabad district also recorded two new cases.
With the update, the number of districts with zero active cases shrunk to nine. After over two months, three active patients were reported on ventilators.
In the past 24 hours, Gujarat vaccinated 85,738 individuals; these include booster doses to 42,003 people and second doses to 13,515 people in the 12-14 age group. In all, the state has administered 11.07 crore doses so far.
