Gujarat BJP legislature party is likely to meet today to elect a new leader following the resignation of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. According to party sources, the Union Home Minister and senior party leader Amit Shah may join the legislature party meeting along with central observers.

The State BJP Sources have said that the legislative party meeting will be held today in Gandhinagar, however, the party is awaiting confirmation from the central parliamentary board in New Delhi. It is likely that a legislative party meeting will be held by this evening in the presence of the party's central observers. Senior BJP leader and national general secretary B. L.

Santhosh and Union Minister and party's Gujarat in-charge Bhupendra Yadav also indicate the same at BJP headquarters in Gandhinagar. Earlier, Mr. Vijay Rupani had resigned as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, a year before the state Assembly elections scheduled by December 2022.

After handing over his resignation to the Governor at Rajbhavan in Gandhinagar, Mr.Rupani said he had stepped down from the post willingly and was ready to accept the new responsibility given by the party.
