Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP) founder Chhotu Vasava will file his nomination for the Jhagadia (ST) seat on Monday, setting the stage for a compelling electoral duel with his son who has already filed papers to contest from this assembly seat.

His son Mahesh, the national president of BTP, had filed nomination papers without any show of strength at the deputy collector's office at Jhagadia on Friday. He took along some of his trusted people and did not inform the party workers.

Senior Vasava, often described as the Robinhood of tribals in his region, has won the Jhagadia seat seven times.

Mahesh is the sitting MLA from the Dediapada seat in Narmada district.

Despite several attempts, he remained unavailable for comments.
