Six months after they had handed over resignation from their respective posts, a group of about 150 party workers on Saturday resigned from the primary membership of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Anand district.

The group alleged high-handedness from the party's state leadership and threatened that it will appeal to all AAP workers across Gujarat to submit their resignations from primary memberships.

"Six months ago, when we resigned from our posts en masse, we had urged the party leadership to intervene. However, since the party leadership has not taken any steps in that direction, we are submitting our resignations from the primary membership of the party," said Ravi Patel, head of the state unit of AAP's farmer's wing.

Patel alleged that without taking the local unit into confidence, the state leadership had dissolved the farmer's wing and also misbehaved with Anand district unit head Dipavali Upadhyaya.

"We will run a campaign for another 12 months urging all those who have joined AAP to resign from the party's primary membership as the state leadership is not taking local units into confidence," said Patel.

The rebels are sending their resignation letters addressed to party leader Arvind Kejriwal.

"We will be exposing all the misdeeds of those leaders who are at the helm of the state unit," he said.
