Green campus initiative by Narmda Education Campus

The Narmada Education Campus which houses Narmada College of Science and Commerce & Narmada College of Management today on 13th July 2024 announced a remarkable accomplishment of establishing a Green Campus in the august presence of the trustees, NEST (Narmada Education & Scientific Research Society) and other renowned citizens of Bharuch.

A renowned pro-active citizen of, Social Worker, Management advisor & Independent Director of EIL Harish Joshi inaugurated the Green Campus.

The Green Campus has been visualized by Dr. Paresh Shah, Director Education NEST. Under his leadership a team of faculty members & students created the following arrangements / systems contributing to the Green Campus.

These are Air Quality Index Monitoring, Rain Water Harvesting, Water Conservation, Liquid Waste Management, Solid Waste Management, Compost Pits, Renewable and Solar Energies, Bio Gas Plant, RO Waste Water recycling, Tree Census with QR Coding and a Green Belt with more than 500 plus plantation is indicating the flora fauna development.

This has led to sensitizing teachers, staff and students towards the importance of the 3Rs namely Reduce, Reuse and Recycle and the need of achieving Net Zero. Dr. Paresh Shah detailed the utility of each system & its contribution to creating a sustainable Green ecosystem.

Harish Joshi was highly appreciative of these initiatives. He very reached out to the students gathered there emphasing on the need for such initiatives at the national & global level. 

He further inspired the youth to acquire more knowledge of the SDG goals & see how we may make these attempts a habit not only for ourselves but also influence others around us to make it a mass movement, which is the need of the hour.

 He quoted a similar example of Reva Aranya developed by the Bharuch Citizen Council and appealed to everyone to develop a habit of “Hug Tree” realize the positive vibrations of doing so.
Harish Joshi applauded this unparallel initiative of the Management & Administration of Narmada Education Campus.

He appealed to students to take this movement forward & prove to be proactive citizens of the Nation.
