The ropeway service at the famous pilgrimage and tourist site Girnar Hill will be temporarily suspended for three days next week due to scheduled maintenance work.

According to official sources, the Girnar ropeway will remain closed on October 7, 8, and 9, 2025. The service is expected to resume normal operations from October 10, once the maintenance work is completed.

The ropeway, which has become a popular mode of transport for thousands of devotees and tourists visiting Girnar daily, plays a crucial role in easing the steep ascent to the hilltop temples. Pilgrims visiting the shrines of Maa Amba, Lord Dattatreya, and the Jain temples heavily rely on the ropeway for a quicker and more convenient journey.

During the three-day closure, visitors will have no option but to climb the thousands of steps leading up the hill, which may cause inconvenience, especially to elderly devotees and those with physical limitations.

Authorities have urged pilgrims and tourists to plan their visits accordingly and cooperate with the temporary disruption aimed at ensuring the safety and long-term functionality of the ropeway
