General election of 260 gram panchayats and by-election of two gram panchayats of Vadodara district will be held on Sunday

The State Election Commission has announced the program for general and by-elections of Gram Panchayats. Vadodara district will also witness general election of 260 gram panchayats and by-election of two gram panchayats of Vadodara district on Sunday. All the preparations for the Gram Panchayat elections have been completed by the District Electoral System. A total of 27 gram panchayats have been declared Samras in the district.

As the election picture is clear in the district, 849 candidates are in the fray for Sarpanch and 3656 for board member. In the general election of Gram Panchayat in Vadodara district, a total of 4,28,602 voters including 2,21,222 male and 2,07,379 female voters and one other voter will exercise their franchise at 576 polling stations.

68 election officers, 68 assistant election officers, 3219 polling staff and 1292 police staff have been appointed to maintain law and order. 883 ballot boxes will be used for the election.

The counting of votes for Gram Panchayat elections will be held on 21.12.2021 and will be held in 27 halls at eight places. For this 668 counting staff, 464 police staff, 65 health workers and 164 others will be on duty, stated by Kuldeep Singh Zala, Nodal Officer, State Election Commission and Resident Additional Collector.
