In a devastating industrial accident at Detox India Pvt. Ltd., located on the edge of the Ankleshwar Industrial Estate in Bharuch district, four contract workers lost their lives during welding work on a feed tank railing.

The incident, marked by a massive explosion, has left the community in shock and mourning.

The deceased workers, identified as Yolesh Ram from Sarangpur, Mukesh Singh from Bihar, Harinath Yadav from Uttar Pradesh, and Ashok Ramhukam, were conducting welding operations when the explosion occurred.

Following the explosion, panic ensued within the plant, and other workers fled the site in fear.

Emergency services, including GIDC Police and ambulances, swiftly arrived at the scene, accompanied by officials from the Department of Industrial Safety and Health. 

The grieving family members of the deceased rushed to the site, and the atmosphere was filled with cries for justice and sorrow.

Administrative Response and Investigations

In response to the tragedy, Bharuch District Collector Tushar Sumera, Ankleshwar Provincial Officer Bhavdipsinh Jadeja, and Deputy Director of Industrial Safety and Health Jijna Chauhan visited the site to assess the situation.

An investigation has been launched to determine whether adequate safety measures and equipment were provided to the workers and to examine the security arrangements at the accident site.

The incident has also sparked a protest by the families of the deceased and their co-workers, who demanded immediate compensation and justice.

The families surrounded District Collector Tushar Sumera, pleading for accountability. A sit-in demonstration ensued, urging the authorities to act swiftly.

The bodies of the deceased workers were moved for post-mortem examinations, and the district administration has promised a thorough inquiry into the incident. Efforts are underway to address the grievances of the families and ensure justice is served.
