Food safety department checking at sweet farsan shops in Vadodara

Food Safety Department of the Health Department of Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan conduct checking at Farsan and sweet shops in different areas of Vadodara city to ensure citizens get pure sweets and other items during Diwali. The team also collected samples of various items and sent them for laboratory analysis.

As per available details, under the instructions of Mukesh Vaidya, health officer of Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan, three teams of the Food Safety Department carried out checking at sweet and farsan shops on Friday morning. One team carried out checks in 15 small and big shops, including the well-known Farsan sweet shops in Sayajiganj and Alkapuri. While two other teams conduct checking at shops in Manjalpur and Fatehganj areas. During checking, samples of various sweets, farsans were collected and sent to the corporation's laboratory for analysis.

It is to be mentioned that the samples of food and other items taken earlier during the festival failed in testing and complaint under the Food Safety Act were lodged against such shopkeepers.
