Five days workshop on Multidisciplinary Approaches of Environmental Sciences by SESD Central University of Gujarat

School of Environment and Sustainable Development, Central University of Gujarat organizing Five Days' Workshop on Multidisciplinary Approaches of Environmental Sciences (27-31 July 2021) via online mode.

Dr. Bhawana Pathak, Dean, SESD welcomed the participant and guest and highlighted on the importance of Environmental studies and the aim of workshop with specific point about the need to understand our interactions with the environment and How we can protect and manage the environment in her opening remark.

Vice Chancellor of Central University of Gujarat, Prof. Rama Shanker Dubey chaired the session and mentioned that conservation and human activities are associated with each other. The role of young minds to manage the deteriorating environment is of high importance.

Distinguished guests of the program were Prof. Sunil Nautiyal , Professor and Head, Centre for Ecological Economics and Natural Resources (CEENR), Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore and Souparno Banerjee, Senior Director, Outreach and Publications Environment Education , Centre for Science and Environment, New Delhi. They mentioned about the present environmental issues and strategies needed to manage. Prof. Sunil Nautiyal gave a special lecture on house hold carbon print.

The workshop have expert speakers from different fields. They will cover Environmental Sustainability and Social well being, Biodiversity conservation measures and issues, Global Warming, Air Pollution, Solid waste management: Challenges for cities and industries, Ecological balance and Ecosystem sustainability, Lessons from COVID 19: Environmental perspectives and challenges and Role of Universities in promoting Environmental Science in India: An overview.

Participants from different parts of India from various reputed organizations and from different fields of UG and PG courses is attending this workshop.
