The state now has 800 ambulances in govt-funded emergency service, the officials said. The number of mobile testing vans has increased to 32.

EMRI 108 gets 100 new ambulances

Total of 100 new ambulances were inducted into the fleet of EMRI 108 on Tuesday. State health minister Rushikesh Patel flagged off the ambulances in Gandhinagar, along with 38 ICUs on wheels and 10 mobile food testing vans.

The state now has 800 ambulances in govt-funded emergency service, the officials said. The number of mobile testing vans has increased to 32. 

An ICU on wheels has facilities such as a ventilator, defibrillator, multi-parameter monitor, ECG machine and syringe pump in addition to a life support system and life-saving drugs, the health department officials said.

The mobile lab will be able to carry out 100-odd tests on the spot to detect adulteration, the officials said.
