Dumper truck overturns, falls on labourers in Banaskantha, kills four

On Saturday evening, a tragic incident shook the Khangarpura village in Banaskantha’s  Tharad, where a dumper truck carrying sand overturned while workers were constructing a drainage system.

The truck overturned unexpectedly, and four workers, including a child, were trapped under the sand.

The deceased were identified as Sonal Ninama (24), Rinku Ganawa (45), Rudra Ganawa (2), and Ila Bhabor (45). After the truck fell over, it took authorities two hours to retrieve the bodies

The driver of the truck managed to flee after the incident. The police have filed a case against the truck driver, the contractor, and the sub-contractor involved.

According to the DySP (Deputy Superintendent of Police), the drainage work was awarded to a contractor named Ishwar, who had subcontracted the work to another individual.
