Gujarat-bound trains on the Western Railway route faced a significant delay of almost 12 hours due to an overhead equipment "breakdown" near Dahanu station in Maharashtra's Palghar district, close to Mumbai.

According to Sumit Thakur, the chief public relations officer of Western Railway, the OHE breakdown occurred at Dahanu Road station at 11 pm on Wednesday.
The UP (Mumbai-bound) line was cleared after midnight, around 12.15 am, while the DOWN (Gujarat-bound) line was restored at 10.25 am on Wednesday.
However, a speed restriction of 60 kmph has been imposed in the section where the breakdown occurred.
To minimize the impact on passengers, all trains are being given halts at every station in the Virar-Surat section. Fortunately, the suburban trains between Churchgate and Virar are unaffected by this situation, as confirmed by Thakur.
An official from Western Railway mentioned that the trains departing from Mumbai late Tuesday night were particularly affected by the incident, which took place between Vangaon and Dahanu stations.
Help Desks have been set up at various stations to assist passengers facing delays.
The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Western Railway expressed regret for the inconvenience caused, providing this information nearly three hours after the incident occurred.
