Seven years ago, during a vehicle check operation near the Supreme Hotel on Halol Road near Vadodara, police nabbed three accused with a quantity of Posdoda worth Rs 1.20 crore hidden in an animal feed in a tempo without number plate.

During the trial, the court convicted the driver and the cleaner under NDPS offences and sentenced them to 20 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs one lakh each. While another accused was acquitted due to lack of suspicion and ordered to be released. It is worth noting that Posh Doda is a narcotics substance used to make narcotics and is banned by the Narcotics Department.

During the year 2014, a police team was conducting a vehicle checking operation near Lilora village on Halol Road. At that time, they stopped a tempo on suspicion coming from Halol and having no number plates. During investigation the persons identified themselves as tempo driver Baldevsingh Jat, cleaner Jashbirsingh Majbisikh and Biyaatsingh Majbisikh all from Punjab. While checking police found a large quantity of narcotic Posh Doda hidden inside animal feed. Police seized 100 bags of chickpea husks and 150 bags of Posh Doda. During the investigation, Poshdoda worth Rs. 1.20 crore was found from 150 bags. All the accused are currently in jail.

The hearing of the case was held in the court of Vadodara Special Judge (NDPS) and Additional Sessions Judge H.K. Bhatt. After examining the arguments of both parties and the written and oral evidence, the court ordered that the accused Baldev Singh and Jasbinder Singh change the number plate of the vehicle and it proved that they had smuggled drugs from other state to Gujarat. They were found guilty of the crime and sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1 lakh. The other accused, Biyatsingh Majbisikh was acquitted on the ground of suspicion and ordered to be released.

The court said that at present, the entire nation is facing different types of terrorism. As part of this, plans are afoot to ruin the country's youth by smuggling narcotics from neighboring countries into India's borders. Which has the opposite effect on the economic condition of the country. Attempts are being made to ruin the lives of the citizens by selling such drugs in the country. The accused are creating an atmosphere of chaos and insecurity in the country for their own personal gain. As such, the country's borders are protected from military, similarly, police ensure security inside. Police have managed to seize a large quantity of banned Posh Doda during the vehicle checking operation. The Punishment means to maintaining the rule of law in the society and the fear of law before the criminals commit crimes.
