It has become difficult for women to go out alone in the city as chain snatching gang is active once again in Vadodara city. In the early hours of Monday morning, the chain snatching gang targeted two women who were out on a morning walk and robbed them of a gold chain and fled. The two incidents near Khodiyar Nagar and Sama Chanakyapuri in the period of 6-45 hours to 7-15 hours in the morning had shocked everyone.

As per available details, Aruna Trivedi (55), who lives at 134, Vaikunth-2, New VIP Road, went for a morning walk with her husband at 6-45 in the morning. The couple was passing by Khodiyar Nagar crossing near Brahmanagar and at that time, two unidentified persons rushed near them on a black bike and looted a gold chain worth Rs 35,000 from the neck of Aruna Trivedi and fled. Meanwhile, the matter was reported to the Harni police and they rushed to the spot. After getting details they began investigation to nab the accused.

Half an hour after the incident at 7-15 a 50-year-old woman Gangotri Prasad Rai (Res. B-19, Takshashila Society, Division-2, New Sama Road, Vadodara) was targeted while walking near Sama Chanakyapuri Jigar Vidyalaya. Before Gangotri Rai could understand anything, the accused on the bike snatched a gold chain worth Rs 30,000 from her neck and fled. Meanwhile, the incident was reported to the Sama police, who rushed to the spot and began investigation after getting the details.

A single gang is believed to have been involved in both the incidents, which took place early in the morning. The Harni and Sama police registered the case and accessed the cctv footage from around the scene to identity the snatchers.
