Certificate of Appreciation for the ninth consecutive time for maximum testing and counseling of HIV / AIDS through Vatsyayan Kendra to ICTC of Sayaji Hospital

The Integrated Counseling and Testing Center (ICTC - Vatsyayan Kendra) is run by the Department of Microbiology, Medical College, Baroda at OPD 7, Sayaji Hospital to guide the testing and treatment of HIV / AIDS.

The center was recently awarded certificate for testing and effective persuasion for ninth consecutive time on the occasion of World AIDS Control Day in Rajkot. for the ninth consecutive time. The extraordinary work of the center and its commitment to contribute to the control of HIV / AIDS was lauded during the program.

Baroda Medical College dean Tanuja Javadekar said, a total of 319 ICTCs have been set up in Gujarat as part of HIV / AIDS control. The center run by medical college at Sayaji Hospital has always been at the top of the list of such centers. This success is due to the dedicated work of the counselors.

There are three counselors providing services at this center and persuade people to get tested for HIV very effectively and if the result is positive then motivate them to seek treatment at OPD 26 treatment center. Most people here are reluctant to get tested and treated. However with effective counseling they are making a significant contribution in control of the disease by preventing it.

She congratulated all concerned for this achievement and commended their dedication.
