Central Smart City Mission team headed by Director Rahul Kapoor visited Vadodara on Tuesday and reviewed various projects run by the corporation. They appreciate models like city command centre, Jan Mahal, Solar project on Akota Dandia Bazaar road, which can be adopted by other cities. They also give valuable suggestions on ongoing projects and how they can become revenue models.

After Vadodara being included in the Smart City project, the national director along with

Rajkumar Beniwal, National State Director and team visited Integrated Command and Control Center, Automatic Traffic Signal, Jan Mahal, beautification of Surasagar Lake and many other projects. They were joined by Deputy Commissioner Sudhir Patel, Manish Bhatt, Rajesh Chauhan and other officials.

The team visited Vadodara to review the projects and said let other cities to know their speciality and adopt them. Smart city project gives platform to such cities which don't get chance to showcase their projects. They also met to give final push to the projects, their completion and releasing funds from the centre as only two years left in Gujarat and Smart City Mission will ends in June 2023.

Under the Smart City project, various projects are being implemented to make the life of the people more peaceful through technology. During the Amrut Mahotsav of Independence, projects were requested from every city and Vadodara also participated and performed well.

Rahul Kapoor said, they request the corporation to make project more people engaging and implement in coming months. The street design must be done in view of benefit of citizens.
