Bulldozer action on notorious bootlegger’s illegal property in Ahmedabad

In yet another crackdown on criminal syndicates in the city, the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC), with support from local police, on Wednesday day demolished an illegal three-storey building belonging to a notorious bootlegger in Naroda's Muthiya village.

Solanki is accused of running an organised bootlegging syndicate and has a history of violent offences, including multiple assaults on police personnel.

The demolition drive was carried out as part of a coordinated action against organised crime under section 111(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The AMC's demolition squad used bulldozers to raze the unauthorised structure in the presence of heavy police deployment.

Police sources said Solanki, along with his associates Anil alias Kali and Pradeep alias Padiyo, had been operating a liquor smuggling network that sourced large consignments of alcohol from outside Gujarat and supplied them in Ahmedabad.

Authorities have also found financial transactions worth over ₹1 crore linked to the syndicate in various bank accounts, following which a report was sent to the Income Tax Department for further probe.
