Amidst loud chants of Nand Gher Umang Bhayo Jai Kanaiyalalki, the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna was celebrated with devotion and fanfare in Vadodara. The streets, temples, Vaishnava mansions, Swaminarayan temples, become Krishnamaya since morning, resounded with the joyous shouts of Jai Kanaiyalalki. Devotees thronged the temples to swing the Lord and at 12 o'clock at night the whole city was in with devotional atmosphere by the birth of Lord Krishna.
The whole city started celebrating Janmashtami from the morning as Shri Krishna Janmotsav was organized by the youth groups in societies. Temples like ISKCON, Vaishnava mansions, Swaminarayan temples as well as many devotees started preparations to swing Nandlal in their homes. In the morning, bhajan groups in the city chanted hymns praising Lord Krishna and set the tune for the Lord birth at midnight.
As the time of God's birth approached, there was a growing enthusiasm among the devotees. They started visiting temples to be part of the celebration before the curfew imposition in the city. It is to be mentioned that government gave relaxation due to the Janmashtami Festival. At 12 o'clock in the night, the devotees were overjoyed and chanted Jai Kanaiyalalki with the birth of Lord Krishna.
The streets were full of devotees as they visit temples to worship the Lord. The government's guideline was not followed in the Janmashtami festival celebrated amid a possible third wave of Corona. People forgot Corona scare and celebrated Janmashtami enthusiastically. Hundreds of thousands of police personnel were deployed by the city police to maintain law and order during the Janmashtami celebrations. Along with Vadodara, Shri Krishna Janmotsav was also celebrated in Vadodara district with devotion and fanfare.
