Bharuch: Violence erupts in Kareli Village over Inter-Community Marriage, houses vandalized

Tensions flared in Kareli village of Jambusar taluka after a dispute over an inter-community marriage led to violence. Five houses belonging to the Phulmali community were vandalized late at night, forcing several families to flee the village.

The conflict erupted when Hemantbhai alias Bholabhai confronted Madhuben Kalidasbhai Phulmali at her home, allegedly slapping her daughter and issuing threats.

Later that night, Hemantbhai, along with Sunilbhai Padhiyar, Balwantbhai Padhiyar, Sohambhai Padhiyar, Chiragbhai Padhiyar, and a JCB driver, arrived with a JCB machine and demolished parts of Madhuben’s house, including a toilet, causing damages worth ₹1.5 lakh.

Following the attack, Madhuben Phulmali filed a police complaint. The Vedach police have launched an investigation, and Inspector B.M. Chaudhary is leading efforts to apprehend the accused. Legal action is underway to address the violent incident.
