On Saturday evening, a human skull was discovered near Dudhdhara Dairy on College Road, Bharuch. Dogs were found biting body parts, prompting immediate action by the police and social worker Dharmesh Solanki.
Further searches led to the recovery of additional body parts, including a section from the waist to the knees on Sunday morning, a hand on Sunday evening, and another hand on Monday morning.
Following a thorough investigation, the police identified the deceased as 34-year-old Sachin Kumar Pravin Singh Chauhan, a resident of Vedanta Society, Shravan Chowkdi, Bharuch.
Sachin had traveled to his hometown with his wife, Parulben and son, Shiva, for the Holi festival, and he returned to Bharuch alone on March 6, 2025.
On the night of March 23, he spoke to his wife at 8 PM, after which his phone was switched off.
His brother was unable to contact him, and after arriving in Bharuch on March 28 to find Sachin’s house locked. Suspecting foul play, he lodged a missing person's complaint at the Division Police Station.
The breakthrough in the case came when police identified Sachin through a tattoo on his severed hand found in the drain.
Investigators believe Sachin was brutally murdered, dismembered, and his remains scattered in different locations to mislead authorities. The police are now actively working to track down and arrest the murderer.
