A police presence has been arranged near the Golden Bridge in Ankleshwar after heavy crowds gathered to capture photos and videos of the rising Narmada River. The precautionary step was taken to ensure public safety as the river’s water level continued to increase.
On Friday, the Narmada’s level crossed a dangerous mark, rising 3 feet above the warning level of 24 feet and reaching 27 feet. The sight of the swollen river drew large numbers of people to the bridge, creating heavy congestion in the area.
Authorities have appealed to the public to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary gatherings. According to local administration, the water level may rise further. Citizens have been urged to step out only when essential and to strictly follow instructions issued by the authorities.
