The Gujarat Home Department has announced a major reshuffle, transferring 116 IPS officers across the state. As part of the changes, Bharuch Superintendent of Police (SP) Mayur Chawda has been transferred to Gandhinagar as Superintendent of the State Monitoring Cell.
Replacing him, Akshayraj Makwana has been appointed as the new SP of Bharuch. Makwana previously served as the Superintendent of Police in Banaskantha.
This large-scale reshuffle has stirred the police force, with transfers of SPs in 25 districts and 32 DCP-rank officers in four cities. Reports suggest that the next round of transfers may include Range IG-level officers.
