AutoGuru India along with Formula Woman UK gives a unique platform to the women who wants to make a career in motorsports. The first edition of Indian assessments held at Erda's Speedway in Vadodara, checking the driving skills of participants. This gives a golden opportunity to women drivers to be in McLaren driving seat in 2022. Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC) is the skill partner for the 2day event. India only country from Asia to participate.
The 2-day event in Vadodara will give women drivers a platform to make a Career in motorsport. The women drivers will be assessed over 5 parameters of driving, go karting, physical fitness, media, and written test. The 2 winners from india will further progress to the UK leg where they will compete with 47 other Women from across the 28 participating countries. Over rounds of eliminations 12 Women will go through the TV shoot out episode to be held in February / March 2022 in UK/Europe. Over further assessments 6 winners will get a dream chance to compete in the McLaren GT Cup Championship in England.
22 applicants from states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Northeast and others take part in the assesment with an aim to creating a community for women and make them to come into motorsports. The average age is 25 to 26 and mother daughter duo is one of the highlights. The assesment will be of two parts karts and cars. College engineers, doctors, businesswomen, lawyers are participating in the Formula One India.
"Participate in All India Talent Hunt in Coimbatore in 2019 and then compete in J&K tyres national racing. It's a steeping stone for us as there is no infrastructure in India and this is a good opportunity to shine at international level. I Hope to compete with males, said Natasha Puri lawyer by profession.
Vani Parmar a cancer surgeon and her daughter Shivani Parmar businesswoman are competing with each other in this assessment. Both took part in rallies and now trying to bring out the best in each other. They are also spreading the Breast Cancer awareness during such events.
Dhruva Chandrashekhar really champion is assisting in give as much knowledge to the participants in driving skills, racing lines and others. He said they are here to support them as they are representing the country.
