An application was submitted by the Indian Farmers Union Vadodara district to the Collector today with various demands on issues including inadequate prices to farmers as well as inadequate irrigation facility, crop insurance and fixed charge at agricultural power feeders.

The Indian Farmers' Union, reached the Vadodara Collectorate on Wednesday on various issues of the farmers and handover an application letter was given to the Collector. Scarce rainfall in Gujarat worsened the situation of farmers as they faced difficulties in terms of nutritional value, compensation for loss of cotton cultivation and land acquisition. A large number of farmers reached the collector's office and chanted slogans with banners in protest. They threaten for an agitation if their demands are not met.

"The condition of farmers are bad and with this application we demand better price for them along with others. We are ready to agitate further of our demands are not met, " Said Thakorbhai Patel from Bhartiya Kisan Sangh.

Leaders and farmers of the Indian Farmers Union sent their application to the Prime Minister through the Collector to try to get their demands taken into consideration. The Collector accepting the application letter and promised to resolve the issues of the farmers.
